- TVA (NuStart) COL application docketed for NRC review on January 18th, 2008.
- Westinghouse AP1000 Design Certification amendment docketed January 18th.
- Mitsubishi submitted a Design Certification application for its US-APWR design on January 2nd.
- NRC announced a hearing for the South Texas Project COLA environmental impact statement in the December 21st Federal Register; time and place not yet decided.
- DOE posted on-line instructions December 21st for companies building new plants to request a Conditional Agreement.
- PPL signed an agreement with UniStar on December 19th to jointly submit the previously announced COL at PPL's Susquehanna facility.
- On December 18th, Exelon selected the Victoria County, TX site for its previously announced COL application.
- On December 17th, Alstom announced a $200 million investment in a U.S. facility to manufacture nuclear turbine-generators.
- The omnibus appropriations bill signed December 27th allocated $18.5 billion in loan guarantees for new nuclear plants.
